Act 1:
Once upon a time in the world’s first GLOBAL MONARCHY…
The world’s most powerful man achieved total domination over all the humans on Earth. He dominated the Earth by inheriting a system which his ancestors created which harnesses all the best thinkers and scientists to achieve the goals that the King’s ancestors wanted. Thus, over millennia, they built Plato’s ideal state: one highly efficient at achieving whatever the “Philosopher” King at the top deems to be the most important goals.
Over thousands of years of inter-generational efforts by His ancestors, they built weapons to defend against meteors and to control the Earth’s weather; to stop or create earthquakes, tsunamis, and all the threats of disaster that nature has inundated mankind with for millennia. But more than just subduing threats from nature, King Bogia’s ancestors, and his living servants, had invented technologies to indirectly control, and/or manipulate, any human being. And particularly, anyone the King chooses to target: be they malicious criminals or rebellious individualists wanting to exercise of their volition – their ego.
Besides dominating nature and men, King Borgia also charged his servants with inventing and perfecting life extension technologies. Thus He experienced hundreds of years of life. But what about the quality of His life?
Act 2:
One day, the King and his lieutenants, courtiers, jesters, scientists, spies, were busy dominating organisms of all varieties, plus reshaping inanimate matter to serve the King’s purposes, and a very strange woman came on their radar. Besides being astoundingly beautiful, as were many of the women the King had seen in his hundreds of years of life, this woman was unusual. The King’s Quantum computers were ferreting out “Who is Public Enemy Number One.” Notifications were sent and a meeting called for the King’s top lieutenants (all related to him).
Seeking to help the King determine the best way to deal with the threat to his person and his Kingdom the advisors, all except one, advised ways to destroy the the woman. Feeling reassured, He set off to deliberate and choose which method of extermination to use on this pest. Being a connoisseur of what he liked to think as justice, he called for the entire amassed profile of his enemy.
In His war room, he studied her glamorous photos and read her background and history. He learned that she’s the progeny of another of his old enemies, yet another woman, one who he’d disposed of decades before. Her name was Alice and her knick-name was “Fluff” because she was so serious and so brilliant. Now seeing that His new enemy was a newer manifestation of “Fluff” he called her “Fluffy.”He went back to more important work, e.g., he was in the middle of strip-mining Jupiter and building more rings around Saturn.
Many months later, the same advisor who discovered Fluffy, discovered that she’d made inroads that were not predicted by the King’s advisor’s models of her. Somehow, she was influencing, some of the most valuable men in the Kingdom. These were men working on the state-of-the-art of domination technologies for the masses, otherwise known as metaethics, ethics, morality, dramatized morality, and psychology. So again, this advisor called her to the King’s attention. However, this time the King was busy with his favorite past-time: engaging in sexual activities with very young gorgeous girls (called “birds” in this Kingdom). The advisor knew not to disturb the King when a sign was lit in the war room that said “This bed is filled with baby birds.” Together with his closest friend, they decided to tag-team this woman. Knowing the King was very appreciative of initiative, yet nonetheless, knowing it was a somewhat risky strategy, they approached her, feeling it was necessary because the modeling of Fluffy had proved to be inadequate.
Upon the first meeting, they were surprised to find that she was receptive, friendly, funny, and delightful to be around — truly “Yar.“(1) But, despite their fondness for her, they decided to try to become trusted advisors and then steer her in a bad direction, a direction good according to the King’s value hierarchy. This was the normal method of neutralizing enemies used for centuries. Many months went by. They felt progress was being made. However, one day something happened which proved they were wrong.
Due to having given her some bad advice, which she’d taken to her detriment, one day she stopped talking to them completely. She refused to meet them and refused to take their — high-tech — phone calls. This was a bit surprising as they didn’t think that she’d noticed the effects of their bad advice. Having again modeled Fluffy incorrectly, the two advisors decided it was time to explain their failure to the King — who was still very engrossed in his projects to control the universe — plus his favorite pastime.
Upon hearing of their failure, the King decided it was time for Fluffy’s destruction, due to her successful escalation spreading her methodology of autonomous ego-control to others.
Act 3:
Having an enemy He could not easily defeat was a new experience for the King. Although he was irritated, at the same time, he was fascinated by Fluffy’s ability to defeat His ancient method of controlling the egos of others, which were: “the most wonderful method that has ever been devised to gain control over that unstable and willful thing, the soul of man.“
The King decided to have a conference with his top lieutenants at an island retreat. Presentations were made on the theme that the King must resort to all manner of expedited departures for Fluffy. However, the two lieutenants who had already tried to subdue her, the ones most aware of her strengths and weaknesses, disavowed this. They argued that Fluffy was one of their kind and that she could and should be convinced to join them.
The King and his brothers liked to think of themselves as “The Masters of The Universe.” In many ways it was true. Besides outright annihilation — which they were indeed the masters of — they were unaccustomed to such a dilemma. Strangely, for this bloodthirsty crew, none of them wanted to kill her — an extremely unusual state of affairs for this Kingdom was literally built on the casual and easy resorting to physical violence whenever anyone opposed the creation of, and perfecting of, the King’s Global Monarchy on Earth.
What to do?
The King ended the conference sending His lieutenants back to their posts to take up the daily maintenance and expansion of His Kingdom. The servants on the Island set up His usual sexual faire with “Baby Birds,” but the King was uninterested and sent the girls away.
The King had a motto: “Impulsive by Nature; Deliberative by Choice.” During his deliberations, the King well knew that any person refusing to serve and obey him – as Fluffy did – set the worst precedent possible and would undermine His power. Yet, and on the other hand, he noticed Fluffy’s intransigence — even in the face of subtle threats made clear to her — made him feel alive for the first time in decades. His admiration of her ability to detect and outmaneuver his dominance was the strangest feeling he had ever had. He felt alive and hopeful but knew that there had never been a greater threat to Him and His Kingdom which was built on the model of a ship where there’s one captain and a strict hierarchy underneath Him which slavishly follows orders for the good of the ship and the voyage.
The King brought to the forefront of his awareness the fact that there are many threats to all living organisms in their fight against entropy. In effect, His inherited Monarchical system was similar to a living organism and faced the same threats from entropy. He was the captain at the helm of steering this 4,000 year old system to it’s climax of complete domination of Earth on the way to dominating the rest of the Universe. Plato was right, He thought, there must be a merit system for His system to endure; which means the person most qualified leads — a fact that even Fluffy’s mentor Fluff acknowledged. He knew himself to be most qualified captain as the oldest, wisest, most experienced person alive; the most expert at all things dealing with achieving human survival. In His contemplation He realized that His own physical survival was necessary. However, He wondered what was the deeper meaning that He aimed all of His achievements at.
Over the two hundred years of his life, He’d had his need for organismic competence (Egoic-Work) met more thoroughly than any man who had ever lived. And that His need for organismic sovereignty (Egoic-Maintenance) was met more fully as well. But, He wondered about His need for organismic relatedness (Egoic-Reproduction). He started to realize what His dilemma really was this: What is the point of surviving well and for a very long time if one is not fully happy.
He knew that if the roles were reversed, He would react exactly as she did to His persona and His monarchy. He came to realize that despite the fact that allowing Fluffy to maintain her egoic-sovereignty did indeed threaten His system, He wanted to discover a way to keep His system flourishing and convince Fluffy to join Him given that He felt she was His soul mate. Then he had a strange thought: He wondered if He could change himself, His standards, virtues and values to do the egoic work needed to have a soul mate?
He sat contemplating what to do while looking at her photos on the screen on His wall. Given that He had already tried to destroy her sovereign ego He realized that restitution was in order. Rightly, she was on guard and would block any attempts to influence her. It was a Mexican Stand-off. The King decided to use His latest high-tech device to read her mind, hoping maybe she had some notion of how to reach a detente between them. So, he took the device and eavesdropped on her thoughts, but found that she did not think of Him.
So, He created an image of Himself inside of her mind and then waited for her to react. At first she was shocked and tried to brush aside the thought of Him. He placed an image of a heart in two separate pieces with an image of each of them holding one piece of the heart and looking at each other, to give her the idea of the two of them together. She pondered the idea and asked herself “With what kind of ego could He love me?”

More coming if and when I think of a happy ending.
